Panera Bread in Madison, WI is seeking a General Manager to lead a high-performing bakery‑cafe team and own day‑to‑day operations, including staffing, scheduling, training, and performance management.

You will hire and develop talent, ensure guest satisfaction, manage costs and inventory, and uphold Panera’s health, safety and service standards in a fast‑paced environment with flexible hours.

Qualifications

• 3+ years restaurant General Manager experience
• ServSafe certification (or ability to obtain)
• Ability to pass background check

Responsibilities

• Own all aspects of leading the bakery-cafe team, including staffing, scheduling, people development, performance management, training and succession planning.
• Hire, onboard and train new team members while motivating and celebrating the entire team.
• Manage team performance to meet goals, standards and exceptional guest service.
• Develop managers on people processes and Panera's guiding values and behaviors.
• Follow procedures to execute company strategies and initiatives.
• Ensure guest satisfaction with food, service, and staff.
• Build relationships to foster loyal guests.
• Ensure policies and safety regulations are followed.
• Maintain a healthy, safe workplace and manage costs and inventory.
• Support Panera's culture of warmth, belonging, growth, and trust.
