Job summary

Panera Bread is seeking a General Manager to lead a busy bakery-cafe, owning daily operations and staff development. You will drive exceptional guest service, manage scheduling, coaching, and performance, and ensure bakery‑cafe goals, cost controls, and quality standards are met.

You will build a high‑performing team, hire and train new staff, and foster a culture of warmth, belonging, growth, and trust while delivering Panera’s brand experience to guests.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of restaurant General Manager experience preferred.
• ServSafe certification (or ability to achieve).
• Background check required for employment.
• Proven ability to drive positive business results in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high-performing bakery-cafe team, including staffing, scheduling, and performance management.
• Hire, onboard, and train team members; motivate and engage the team.
• Manage costs, inventory, and ensure quality standards and guest service.
• Develop managers and promote Panera's guiding values and behaviors.
• Ensure safety and compliance with all policies and regulations.
