Job summary

BJ's Wholesale Club is seeking a bakery team member to support daily bakery operations on-site. You will help prepare and display bakery items, assist members with product selections, and collaborate with team members to maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized bakery area.

The role emphasizes teamwork, attention to food safety, and delivering high-quality products to members, with a focus on speed and accuracy in a fast-paced store environment.

Responsibilities

• Answers questions and recommends bakery items.
• Proofs and bakes all unfinished bakery goods by following each item's product handling information using ovens and/or other equipment.
• Packages freshly baked goods, including cookies, Danish pastries, muffins, rolls, breads, pies, cakes, and other items as needed.
• Decorates special order or case product.
• Rotates and stores bakery products following food safety, food freshness, and product handling policies and procedures.
• Receives, inspects, and stores bakery shipments.
• Ensures that all products are fresh and meet company quality standards.
• Generates labels and price tickets for bakery goods and performs price check functions when necessary.
• Cleans and sanitizes equipment, display fixtures, and food surfaces in the bakery, including ovens, cooking utensils, refrigerated cases, display racks, and tables.
