Job summary

Grand Central Bakery in Portland, OR is seeking a Baker Lead to partner with the Production Manager to ensure that high-quality bread is produced efficiently while rigorously following FSMA guidelines. You will coach, train, and lead the shift, actively engaging in all production stages and mentoring the crew on the floor.

As the primary on-shift trainer, you will schedule coverage, monitor quality control, troubleshoot equipment, and report findings to the Production Manager.

Qualifications

• Professional baking experience required.
• HS diploma or GED preferred.
• Strong leadership and training abilities.
• Excellent English literacy and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily production decisions and planning on the bakery floor.
• Coach and train crew; act as PIC; ensure safety and quality.
• Coordinate scheduling and shift coverage.
• Maintain FSMA compliance and food safety records.
• Generate production reports using bakery software.
