Job summary

Sullivan's Grocery in the Bakery department is seeking a responsible full‑time manager to oversee daily bakery operations, decorate and bake items, and take orders. You will lead a team, ensure quality, and maintain standards for service and sanitation.

Experience in food service management is required; flexibility in shifts and a focus on customer satisfaction are essential. This role reports to the Deli Manager and emphasizes safety and inventory control.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
• Experience: 1+ years in food service management.
• Computer Skills: basic computer literacy likely required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor food prep, portion sizes, garnishing and presentation.
• Investigate and resolve complaints about food quality or service.
• Schedule deliveries and check contents for quality and quantity.
• Maintain inventories and records of inventory.
• Establish standards for staff performance and customer service.
• Review procedures to improve service, performance or safety.
• Recruit staff and assist with staffing needs.
• Coordinate equipment maintenance and pest control.
• Record items sold to identify profitability.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Monitor food preparation methods, portion sizes, and garnishing and presentation of food to ensure that food is prepared and presented in an acceptable manner.
• Investigate and resolve complaints regarding food quality, service, or accommodations.
• Schedule and receive food and beverage deliveries, checking delivery contents to verify product quality and quantity.
• Maintain food and equipment inventories, and keep inventory record
• Establish standards for personnel performance and customer service
• Keep records required by government agencies regarding sanitation or food subside.
• Review work procedures and operational problems to determine ways to improve service, performance, or safety.
• Assess staffing needs and recruit staff, using methods such as newspaper advertisements or attendance at job fairs.
• Arrange for equipment maintenance and repairs, and coordinate a variety of services, such as waste removal and pest control.
• Record the number, type, and cost of items sold to determine which items may be unpopular or less profitable.
