Levain Bakery in Chicago is seeking a Baker to uphold our high standards of quality and consistency across our products. The ideal candidate has baking knowledge, strong attention to recipes, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

You will work with a supportive team, follow established procedures, and contribute to a welcoming workplace. Requirements include 1–2 years of baking experience and valid DOH and local food handler certifications plus the ability to lift 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1-2 years of baking experience.
• Open availability: mornings, nights, weekends, holidays.
• Ability to lift/push 50 pounds.
• Stand/walk 8 hours (stairs may be required).
• Read and communicate in English.
• Valid DOH Certification & additional regional food handler certifications.

Responsibilities

• Lead with curiosity and compassion, building connections with coworkers.
• Collaborate with team to ensure smooth store operations.
• Facilitate open, clear, timely communication with team and management.
• Stay informed about new products, procedures, and promotions.
• Bake and quality control: measure, mix, weigh, shape and prepare products per guidelines.
• Monitor times and temperatures to maintain product quality.
• Manage daily pars to meet quality standards and customer demand.
