Position: Baker

The Baker is responsible for prepping, preparing, and executing all menu items to specification, following the directions of the Executive Chef daily. All positions may perform additional duties based on business needs outside of normal duties.

Essential Functions
  1. Prepare high-quality food products for the restaurant and banquets according to menu descriptions and directions.
  2. Produce all morning pastries for events and outlets.
  3. Deliver products to outlets and events as needed.
  4. Train new associates and interns on the breakfast station.
  5. Assist with bread production: dough mixing, forming, and baking.
  6. Maintain station pars and forecast product needs for large events.
  7. Prepare food items with quality and consistency.
  8. Set up work stations based on menu items, banquet event orders, and specials; ensure all equipment is ready for the shift.
  9. Follow proper sanitation and safety guidelines; keep work and storage areas clean and organized.
  10. Inspect all food products to maintain proper appearance, colors, and appeal.
  11. Store all food in proper containers in refrigerators and freezers to maintain freshness.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Extensive baking experience and skills.
  • Ability to read recipes and follow directions.
  • Proficient in handling knives, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment.
  • Good visual acuity for near, depth, and color perception.
  • Demonstrate culinary techniques such as cutting, cooking principles, plate presentation, and sanitation practices.
  • At least two years of experience in a high-end restaurant or equivalent educational background.
  • Positive attitude and good interpersonal skills.
  • Sound decision-making abilities.
  • Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking).
  • Availability to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Physical Requirements

Walking and standing throughout the day; may vary. Occasional exposure to cold, heat, and water. Ability to transport up to 50 pounds occasionally and 35 pounds regularly.
