Position Purpose:

The Baker is responsible for preparing a variety of baked goods and maintaining and cleaning all baking equipment. This position calls for someone who is able to safely, efficiently and consistently produce and present food in a high volume setting. A focus on providing outstanding customer service and exemplary organizational and time management skills are a must.

Job Duties:

  • Prepare baked goods for student meals.
  • Prepare baked goods for catering.
  • Prepare baked goods for the Den.
  • Assist in other areas as needed.
  • Ensure that proper production and sanitation standards are being maintained.
  • Ensure that standardized recipes are being used.
  • Maintain the highest levels of customer service and display a pleasant and helpful attitude at all times.
  • Promote and value diversity and engage in two-way communication.
  • Attend monthly dining meetings, conferences, and campus events.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education

  • Culinary degree or equivalent combination of education and experience desired.
  • Serve Safe certification.

Experience

  • Minimum of three years’ experience in an institutional or high volume full service food operation.
  • Previous experience in a high volume collegiate setting desired.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Ability to establish rapport quickly with faculty, students, staff and outside clients staying composed and friendly.
  • Commitment to customer service.
