Description

Position Summary: As a Baker at 1228 Main, you will be responsible for producing a wide variety of breads and buns in large quantities for daily deliveries. We are looking for someone with general bakery experience and a solid understanding of the bread‑making process—from mixing to shaping to baking. This is a full‑time, overnight role and requires availability from 9 pm–5 am.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce and bake breads and buns according to standardized recipes and daily production needs
• Operate mixers, ovens, proofers, and other bakery equipment
• Shape and portion doughs with consistency and accuracy
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the production area
• Work efficiently in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment
• Follow all food safety and sanitation standards
• Pay: $18 – $21 per hour

Qualifications

• General bakery experience required; basic knowledge of artisan bread mixing, shaping, proofing, and baking
• Basic knowledge of artisan bread types, including baguettes and sourdough, with a strong understanding of levain and poolish starters
• Must be punctual, team‑oriented, and bring a proactive, can‑do attitude to a fast‑paced kitchen environment
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment
• Must be dependable, punctual, and a team player
• Must be able to work 9 pm–5 am approx five days a week
• Ability to follow production schedules and recipe specifications
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
