Great Western Dining Service is seeking a skilled Baker for our university location. The role requires preparing a wide range of baked goods, including breads, pastries, cookies, and specialty items.

Early morning shifts and a fast-paced kitchen are expected, with a focus on quality, cleanliness, and customer service in a student-oriented setting. Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of baking experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and knowledge of essential baking techniques.

Qualifications

• One to two years as a baker or bakery background preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent; formal culinary or baking training preferred.
• Knowledge of yeasts and other pre-ferments encouraged.
• Customer service oriented in a student-oriented environment.
• Dependable, reliable, and able to bake from scratch.

Responsibilities

• Produce standard baked goods such as breads, pastries, cookies, and desserts.
• Assist in developing new recipes and menu items.
• Unload, clean and operate mixers.
• Maintain daily production and sanitation records.
• Help keep kitchen sanitary and meet HACCP standards.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to meet deadlines.
• Other duties as assigned.

Great Western Dining at our [INSERT UNIVERSITY NAME AND LOCATION] location is looking for a skilled and passionate Baker to prepare a wide range of baked goods including breads, pastries, cookies, and specialty items. The ideal candidate will have experience in baking techniques, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality and cleanliness. This role requires early morning shifts and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for producing standard baked goods such as cakes, cookies, biscuits, muffins and various types of puddings
• Assist in developing new recipes and menu items when applicable.
• Unload, clean and operate mixers
• Maintains all daily production, sanitation sheets and applicable forms to ensure all procedures are met
• Assists with cleaning the kitchen and maintaining a sanitary work area
• Meet or exceed all established HACCP sanitation and safety standards
• Work collaboratively with other kitchen or bakery staff to meet production deadlines.
• Other duties as required & assigned

Skills and Qualifications

• Must be detail oriented with the ability to perform simple mathematical calculations and follow directions for equipment and recipe production.
