Job summary

Trinity Services Group in Chesapeake, VA is seeking a Baker to join our team at the Chesapeake City Jail. This jail-based role prepares a variety of baked goods, follows recipes, and ensures quality and timely service with DailyPay available.

The position requires at least 1 year of cooking experience, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to work in a correctional facility environment. Training is provided and advancement opportunities exist.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and/or equivalent experience. Must be at least 18 years of age.
• At least one year of relevant cooking experience required.
• Prior experience in a cafeteria or large volume production facility is a plus.
• Experience with safety procedures as typical in a cafeteria or food service environment.

Responsibilities

• Accurately and efficiently prepares a variety of food items in accordance with assigned work instructions and menus.
• Refers to Daily Prep List at the start of each shift for assigned duties and completes opening and closing checklists daily.
• Knows and complies with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, recipes, policies and procedures.
• Handles, stores, labels, and rotates all products properly and in accordance to applicable state laws.
• Follows assigned instruction to properly stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure smooth serving of food.

About This Position

This position is working inside a jail/correctional facility at the Chesapeake City Jail.

We are looking for a Baker to join our team! The baker will follow recipes and menus, cut baked goods, perform quality checks on ingredients and finished products, use icing and glazes to enhance item presentation. You will also be responsible to clean workstations and equipment as well perform other duties to ensure that all meals go out smoothly.
