Job summary

United Way of Greenville County is seeking bakers who enjoy teamwork and delivering great guest experiences on a part-time, on-site basis. This role emphasizes health and safety, precise baking, and adherence to standard recipes and time guidelines.

Qualifications

• Demonstrate excellent health, food safety and sanitation standards.
• Operate cooking equipment (mixer, oven, steam table) following recipes.
• Set up station according to restaurant standards.
• Follow company standard recipes, baking/decorating and prep procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare orders quickly according to time specifications.
• Work with managers, servers, dish machine operators, and fellow cooks/prep.
• Weigh, measure, portion, and thaw items per health department standards.
• Assist with food deliveries and ensure product quality and proper storage for food safety.
• Assist with cleaning, sanitation and organization of kitchen, walk-in cooler and storage areas.
• Maintain professional appearance, hygiene, and punctuality in clean uniform.
• Take on additional tasks as requested by management.

We are looking for Bakers who will:

• Demonstrate excellent health, food safety and sanitation standards.
• Operate cooking equipment such as the mixer, oven, and steam table.
• Set up station according to restaurant standards.
• Consistently demonstrate all company standard recipes, baking/decorating and prep procedures and plate set-ups/service recipes.
• Prepare orders as requested by the guest according to our time specifications.
• Work effectively with managers, servers, dish machine operators, fellow cooks/prep.
• Prepare food items for later use by weighing, measuring, portioning, and thawing to company/local health department standards.
• Assist with food deliveries to include checking product for quality and placing products in appropriate storage areas to ensure food safety.
• Assist with the cleaning, sanitation and organization of kitchen, walk-in cooler, and all food storage areas.
• Maintain a professional appearance, including proper hygiene and report to work on time, as scheduled, in clean uniform, ready to take over their station.
• Perform additional responsibilities, although not detailed, as requested by the manager at any time.
