Job summary

Stemilt Growers is seeking a line worker who will primarily operate the packing line and rotate to assist the bagging machine operator as needed. The role is full-time and year-round with a day shift and 5:00 am–1:30 pm hours, Monday through Friday.

Pre-employment drug testing is required and attention to safety is essential. The successful candidate will learn machine settings, supervise a small crew, maintain an efficient work area, and understand Stemilt fruit grades while collecting daily

Qualifications

• GED or equivalent
• Ability to read and understand simple instructions and memos
• Ability to write simple correspondence
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers, clients and coworkers
• Ability to understand; apply instructions from written or verbal form
• Ability to handle problems with multiple variables in standard situations
• Ability to read Stemilt pack schedules
• Experience with Oracle and Discoverer tools
• Intermediate computer skills
• Must be able to read, speak and write English
• Able to lift up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 40 pounds occasionally

Responsibilities

• Maintain the bagging machine and clean as needed
• Learn programs and settings to maximize efficiency
• Direct a crew of 2 to 6 packing bags from the machine
• Demonstrate clear communication with team and supervisors
• Keep pace with production line and maintain a clean work area
• Know Stemilt fruit grades and quality standards
• Strive to improve bagging capabilities of the machine
• Compile daily production data and share with relevant groups
• Use tools available to maximize grower returns
• Be mechanically inclined and flexible for other duties as needed
