Job summary

Envoy Air is seeking a baggage handler at our Morrisville location. You will support passengers and staff by handling luggage, assisting with lost/damaged baggage claims, and maintaining order at the baggage claim area.

This is a physical, outdoor role requiring lifting up to 75 lbs, rotating shifts, and a commitment to safety. Envoy Air offers flight privileges and career development opportunities, with health benefits subject to location.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work outdoors in varying weather.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Assists passengers with claims for lost/damaged luggage.
• May provide announcements to passengers explaining baggage procedures and assisting disabled passengers at baggage claim.
• Remove unclaimed bags from carousel.
• Stack unclaimed items onto baggage carts and into storage racks/shelves in secured areas.
• Track and reconcile all claims filed by customers.
• Push/pull baggage cart using two hands with forces between 51.4 lbs. and 75 lbs.
• Occasionally twist and turn back when retrieving/placing luggage from carousel or storage areas.

Responsibilities

• Assists passengers with claims for lost/damaged luggage.
• May provide announcements to passengers explaining baggage procedures and offering assistance to disabled passengers at the baggage claim area.
• Remove unclaimed bags from carousel.
• Stack unclaimed items onto baggage carts and into storage racks/shelves in secured areas. May be required to handle same items multiple times. Baggage may weigh between 33.3 lbs. and 75 lbs.
• Track and reconcile all claims filed by customers.
• Push/pull baggage cart using two hands with forces between 51.4 lbs. and 75 lbs.
• Occasionally twist and turn upper and lower back when retrieving/placing luggage from carousel or luggage storage area, and when retrieving items from printers at desk.

Requirements

• Minimum age: 18
• High school diploma, GED, or international equivalent
• Possess a valid, unexpired and unsuspended REAL ID-compliant, state driver’s license; or otherwise maintain all necessary authority and identification to travel for business needs as required;some license restrictions may prohibit a candidate from being considered for this role.
• Ability to work rotating shifts including days, overnights, weekends, holidays, and rotating days off
• Flexible to work additional hours with short notice when operationally necessary
• Must be able to carry, bend, lift and turn with bags and other items weighing up to 75 lbs.
• Must be willing and able to work outside in variable weather conditions
• Must enjoy working under deadlines, working a physical job outdoors, and have an interest in the airline industry
• Must be able to read, write, fluently speak, and understand the English language
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
