Job summary

Envoy Air Inc. seeks a baggage handler to support our operations in the United States. You will assist passengers with luggage claims, announce baggage procedures, and help manage unclaimed bags at the baggage claim area.

The role requires physical work, outdoor conditions, and the ability to work rotating shifts. Qualifications include a minimum age of 18, a high school diploma or equivalent, and a valid REAL ID or travel authorization.

Responsibilities

• Assist passengers with claims for lost or damaged luggage.
• Provide announcements/assistance to passengers at baggage claim areas.
• Remove unclaimed bags from carousels.
• Stack/unload baggage onto carts and storage racks; bags may weigh up to 75 lbs.
• Track and reconcile customer luggage claims.
• Push/pull baggage carts with 51.4–75 lbs force.
• Occasionally twist/turn back when handling luggage and items.
• Work outdoors in variable weather and maintain deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Assists passengers with claims for lost/damaged luggage.
• May provide announcements to passengers explaining baggage procedures and offering assistance to disabled passengers at the baggage claim area.
• Remove unclaimed bags from carousel.
• Stack unclaimed items onto baggage carts and into storage racks/shelves in secured areas. May be required to handle same items multiple times. Baggage may weigh between 33.3 lbs. and 75 lbs.
• Track and reconcile all claims filed by customers.
• Push/pull baggage cart using two hands with forces between 51.4 lbs. and 75 lbs.
• Push/Pull baggage cart using two hands with forces between 51.4 lbs. and 58.5 lbs.
• Occasionally twist and turn upper and lower back when retrieving/placing luggage from carousel or luggage storage area, and when retrieving items from printers at desk.

Requirements

• Minimum age: 18
• High school diploma, GED, or international equivalent

• Possess a valid, unexpired and unsuspended REAL ID-compliant, state driver’s license; or otherwise maintain all necessary authority and identification to travel for business needs as required; some license restrictions may prohibit a candidate from being considered for this role.

• Ability to work rotating shifts including days, overnights, weekends, holidays, and rotating days off
• Flexible to work additional hours with short notice when operationally necessary
• Must be able to carry, bend, lift and turn with bags and other items weighing up to 75 lbs.
• Must be willing and able to work outside in variable weather conditions
• Must enjoy working under deadlines, working a physical job outdoors, and have an interest in the airline industry
• Must be able to read, write, fluently speak, and understand the English language
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
