Job summary

BEUMER Group is seeking a Technician II to perform electrical and mechanical maintenance of the BEUMER ICS baggage handling system at Gerald R. Ford International Airport (GRR).

The role requires hands‑on experience with automated material handling, proficiency in Siemens PLCs, and the ability to diagnose faults across electrical and mechanical subsystems. The position operates in a fast‑paced airport environment with night/weekend shifts, and offers comprehensive benefits upon full‑time

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical certification in Mechatronics, Electrical or Mechanical engineering.
• 2–5 years hands-on experience in automated material handling systems.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain airside security clearance.
• Proficiency in BEUMER SAC systems, PLC programming (Siemens preferred).
• Familiarity with Profinet, CANbus and Fieldbus protocols.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and advanced maintenance on BEUMER ICS components, including ICS elements, diverters, scanners, and third‑party equipment used to interface with the system.
• Diagnose and resolve faults across mechanical, electrical, and control subsystems using structured troubleshooting methods.
• Respond to system interruptions caused by carrier jams, sensor faults, or control logic errors; execute resets and root cause analysis.
• Interface with BEUMER’s High‑Level Control (SAC) and PLC systems to monitor performance and execute logic‑based interventions.
• Maintain accurate logs of maintenance activities, fault trends, and spare part usage in compliance with reporting protocols.
