Qualifications

Job description

Transdev in Columbus, Ohio via Columbus Airport is hiring a Part Time Baggage Handler to provide operational oversight, day-to-day operational needs, and assist passengers in need, and with loading/unloading of baggage from the bus. We are seeking customer service-oriented professionals who are dedicated to safety.

Position Subject to Collective Bargaining Agreement:

  1. $18.00 / hour
  2. Part Time
  3. Available Shift hours are 6:00am-2:30pm (2-3 days a week)

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversees on-road service by tracking trip performance measures, route began on time, performance, incidents, etc.
  2. Provides customer support by responding to questions/concerns regarding schedules, lost items, timing, and general service challenges. Assists passengers in need, and with loading/unloading of baggage from the bus.
  3. Assists in emergency situations for vehicle operators, act as liaison between drivers, management, and emergency services.
  4. Reconcile physical passenger counts and electronic count from the bus systems if equipped.
  5. Other duties as assigned by GM or Direct Supervisor.

Qualifications:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Valid driver's license.
  3. Technical degree preferred.
  4. ADA knowledge.
  5. Baggage handling experience.
  6. 2 years customer service experience.
  7. Excellent verbal, interpersonal skills, email, and phone skills.
  8. Problem solving skills.
  9. Excellent customer service skills.
  10. Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.

Physical Requirements:

  1. Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
  2. The employee is generally subjected to long periods spent sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen.
  3. Work environment will be a combination of both indoors and outdoors.
