Job summary

DLS Engineering seeks a System Administrator II (Backup and Recovery Administrator) for a full-time, on-site role at Gunter Annex in Montgomery, Alabama. You will manage backup strategies, restore operations, and enforce DISA-STIG compliance in a DoD environment.

The position requires 5+ years of hands-on experience with Veritas NetBackup, SAN storage, VADP, and NDMP, plus a Secret clearance. A competitive salary and full benefits are offered, along with 401(k) matching.

Qualifications

5+ years experience with Veritas NetBackup, SAN attached storage, VADP (VMware) and NDMP configurations, tape libraries, Windows and Linux operating systems, physical and virtual systems, and other enterprise level backup hardware/software.
Experience with bare metal restores (required).
IAT-II certification (required).
Veritas Certified Specialist: VCS-282, VCS-283 or VCS-326 (required).
Active Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

Develop backup and recovery plans, create/modify reports, monitor system health, optimize performance, proactively fix issues, identify and resolve network anomalies, conduct trend analyses, and test backups with quarterly restores.
Perform annual DISA STIGs compliance checks on all servers and installed software.
