Job summary
DLS Engineering in Montgomery, Alabama, is seeking a System Administrator II (Backup and Recovery Administrator) to support the AFINC program on-site at Gunter Annex. The role centers on Veritas NetBackup administration, SAN storage, VADP/NDMP configurations, tape libraries, and bare-metal restores, with DISA STIGs compliance and DoD network context.
Candidates must hold IAT-II and one of the Veritas Specialist credentials; experience across Windows and Linux servers, virtualized environments,
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience with Veritas NetBackup, SAN attached storage, VADP (VMware) and NDMP configurations, tape libraries, Windows and Linux operating systems, physical and virtual systems, and other enterprise level backup hardware/software.
- Experience with bare metal restores (required).
- IAT-II certification (required).
- Veritas Certified Specialist credentials: VCS-282, VCS-283, or VCS-326 (required).
Responsibilities
- Develop backup and recovery plans; monitor system health; optimize performance; test backups and quarterly restores.
- Perform annual DISA STIGs compliance checks on servers and software.
