Job summary

The TJX Companies, Inc. is hiring at HomeGoods in Melville, NY for a role focused on delivering a superior customer experience, merchandising and backroom operations.

You will coordinate truck delivery, train Associates, and ensure products are properly tagged, hung and coded while maintaining store standards. This position requires teamwork, flexibility to work nights/weekends, and the ability to lift heavy objects.

Qualifications

• 1 year retail experience
• 6 months of leadership experience
• Superior communication and organizational skills with attention to detail
• Flexible schedule including nights and weekends
• Capable of multi-tasking
• Team player who can work with peers and supervisors
• Capable of lifting heavy objects and assisting with store tasks
• Ability to train others

Responsibilities

• Creates a positive internal and external customer experience
• Promotes a culture of honesty and integrity; maintains confidentiality
• Orchestrates truck delivery, prioritizing processing of merchandise onto the sales floor
• Trains and mentors Associates on merchandising and processing principles
• Ensures merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded
• Communicates with the Coordinator on Duty for efficient flow of goods to sales floor
• Ensures Associates complete tasks according to store plan; prioritizes as needed
• Monitors productivity of team and coaches as necessary
• Organizes and rotates back stock for easy replenishment
• Maintains merchandising philosophy and signage standards
• Maintains backroom cleanliness and recovery standards
• Ensures compliance with recycling and hazardous waste programs
• Communicates priorities and progress with management and Associates
• Provides recognition and constructive feedback
• Partners with Management on Associate training needs
• Adheres to labor laws, policies, and procedures
• Promotes credit and loyalty programs
• Supports store shrink reduction goals
• Promotes safety awareness and a safe environment
• Other duties as assigned
