Sam’s Club in Lathrop, CA is opening a brand-new club and seeks a Backroom Associate to help build a first-class operation from day one. As a founding team member, you’ll receive shipments, organize merchandise, and support safe, accurate backroom processes that keep the store running smoothly for members.

You’ll join a collaborative team, learn our processes, and contribute to inventory accuracy and operational excellence in a high-volume environment with weekends and holidays as needed.

Keep Operations Moving Behind the Scenes

As a Backroom Associate at Sam’s Club, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring products are received, processed, and moved to the sales floor efficiently. Your work helps maintain inventory accuracy, reduce shrink, and ensure members have access to the products they need. In this role, you’ll spend your day receiving shipments, organizing merchandise, maintaining backroom operations, and supporting a fast-paced, high-volume environment while ensuring safety and accuracy in every task.

What You’ll Do

Receive, unload, and process shipments in accordance with company procedures Verify merchandise counts, organize receiving reports, and route merchandise to appropriate areas Maintain a clean, organized, and safe backroom and receiving area Track and process claims, including damaged goods and returned merchandise Prepare and manage clearance and liquidation items Operate equipment safely and follow all company safety standards and guidelines Conduct safety checks and report unsafe conditions to management Support inventory accuracy, reduce shrink, and maintain proper merchandise handling

The hourly wage range for this position is $19.00 to $27.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
