We are seeking ENTRY LEVEL Federal Background Investigators to join our growing team in the Philadelphia, PA area as contract Investigators. Investigators will support national security and suitability investigations for government clients, focusing on background checks. Potomac Management offers competitive reimbursement rates for investigation casework and values our Investigators' contributions.

FULL-TIME Background Investigators Wanted - (1099 status, no benefits, minimum 20-25 source units per week)

We will cover 100% of your training costs* (must work with Potomac for 1 year post-training; jobs are nationwide, relocation is not an issue).

Minimum Qualifications

• Complete approved New Investigators Training (7 weeks, fully paid: 5 weeks virtual, 2 weeks field).
• Must have an active TS clearance.
• At least 18 years old, US Citizen.
• Ability to work remotely, travel, with a reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with personal computers and business software.
• Ability to analyze information, identify key findings, and draw conclusions.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local investigation laws and regulations.

Essential Functions

• Conduct interviews, retrieve records, research, and prepare investigative reports complying with federal standards and laws.
• Perform face-to-face interviews with applicants, neighbors, coworkers, and associates.
• Search records at law enforcement agencies, courthouses, and other institutions.
• Compile clear, concise reports to determine employment suitability and security clearance eligibility.
• Meet quality, timeliness, and productivity metrics in a fast-paced environment.
• Coordinate with team leaders and review officers to ensure thorough investigations.

Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
