Job summary

The City of Atlanta is seeking a Backflow Inspector to protect potable water systems, inspect backflow assemblies, and maintain a comprehensive database of devices across the distribution network. You will coordinate with internal teams and external customers to ensure compliance and proper installations.

Qualifications

• Minimum: High School diploma or equivalent.
• Three years of experience in water distribution and backflow prevention.
• Possession of a valid Georgia driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate meetings with customers, contractors, and developers to ensure correct backflow device installation.
• Attend pre-construction meetings to verify backflow protection on plans.
• Maintain digital records of backflow devices using SwiftComply.
• Visually inspect and record new backflow devices on properties connected to the distribution system.
• Annotate and report violations with device type and installation instructions.
