Job summary

You will work on REST APIs, microservices, data ingestion, and processing, while maintaining scalable, secure backend systems and contributing to product improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in computer science or a related field.
• A few years of experience building web applications.
• Experience with Node.js.
• Experience implementing highly-available distributed systems/microservices.
• Experience building scalable backend APIs.
• Experience with relational databases, PostgreSQL preferred.
• Monitoring/alerting platforms knowledge is a plus.
• Strong focus on code quality and automated testing.
• Attention to detail and correctness.
• Ability to learn new technologies and systems.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with bias toward action.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement or improve features in backend systems including REST APIs, microservices, data ingestion and processing systems, and distributed task/job processing systems
• Write, maintain scalable, performant, and secure code shared across platforms
• Contribute to product and core backend systems by suggesting and executing improvements
• Improve engineering standards, tooling, processes and security
• Practice test-driven development
• Debug production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack
• Participate in on-call rotations to resolve critical issues
• Use OWASP top 10 techniques to secure code
• Maintain awareness of data maintenance best practices relevant to your role
• Adhere to information security policies and procedures
