Job summary

Deploy is building an intelligence infrastructure platform and is seeking a senior backend engineer to ship core services and web-based APIs. You will own production-ready features, work autonomously, and push the boundaries of scale.

You will design, implement, and maintain scalable services, collaborate across teams, and contribute to security and quality practices while operating in a fast-growing AI startup environment in San Francisco.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's Degree in computer science or related field.
• 5+ years of experience building scalable web applications.
• Experience or interest in Node.js
• Designed and implemented highly-available distributed systems/microservices
• Built platforms exposing scalable backend APIs

Responsibilities

• Design, implement or improve features in REST APIs, microservices, data ingestion and processing systems.
• Write scalable, performant and secure code that can be shared across platforms.
• Contribute to product and core backend systems through improvements.
• Improve engineering standards, tooling, processes and security.
• Practice test-driven development.
• Debug production issues across services and stack.
• Participate in on-call rotations as needed.
• Use OWASP top 10 techniques to secure code.
• Maintain awareness of data handling best practices.
• Adhere to information security and policy procedures.
• Report security or policy breaches to appropriate authorities
