Job summary

Robinhood is seeking a Software Engineering Intern, Backend for Summer 2027. You will work on the core backend powering brokerage, crypto, and payments with real impact on a live financial platform.

You'll own a high-impact project end-to-end, collaborate with experienced engineers, and ship code in Python/Django or Go, with PostgreSQL, Kafka, Redis, AWS, and Kubernetes. This is a hands-on, production-facing internship in our US offices.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a full-time degree program with expected graduation Winter 2027 or Spring 2028.
• Strong CS fundamentals and best coding practices.
• Solid communication and ability to drive large projects forward in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with fintech concepts and internships or projects.

Responsibilities

• Own a high-impact backend project from initial scoping through launch.
• Partner with a dedicated mentor who will guide you from onboarding through shipping.
• Design, build, test, and release software solutions that meet correctness and scalability requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Robinhood to solve critical problems.
• Maintain and scale an existing codebase with Python/Django, Go, PostgreSQL, Kafka, Redis.
