Self Financial is a venture-backed FinTech company aiming to increase economic inclusion by helping people build credit and savings. The Backend Software Engineer will contribute to the Credit Card team, building and maintaining services behind Self’s credit card products, with interviews conducted in person at the Austin, TX HQ.

You will work on backend services, APIs, and integrations with third-party platforms, ensuring reliability, security, and scalability in a fast-paced environment.

Qualificações

• 2+ years of professional software engineering experience, including backend services.
• Working knowledge of Python and web application fundamentals.
• Understanding of REST APIs and backend-client communication.
• Comfort with Git and code-review workflows.
• Commitment to reliable, tested, secure, maintainable code.

Responsabilidades

• Build and maintain backend services and APIs using Python, Flask, and FastAPI.
• Implement REST endpoints for web and mobile clients with scalability in mind.
• Work with relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL) to model data and write queries.
• Integrations with third-party partners and services, including data exchange and monitoring.
• Write clean, tested code and participate in code reviews.
