Job summary

Maximus is seeking a Software Developer (Backend) to provide subject matter expertise for USAF missions. You will design and implement back-end architectures, RESTful APIs, and data models, supporting current and new system capabilities and integrations. Requires TS/SCI and remote work with potential travel.

Minimum 7 years in software development, strong experience with Jira, AWS/Kubernetes, and containerized microservices. This role is contingent on contract award and security clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master’s may substitute for 2 years.
• 7 years of software development experience in OO and scripting languages with DevSecOps, microservices, and containers.
• 3 years of experience with bug tracking software (e.g., Jira) and testing web-based applications.
• 3 years of experience in software development programs or projects.
• Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, and RedHat Linux.

Job description

The Software Developer (Backend) provides subject matter proficiency for our USAF mission. This role is responsible for providing analytical skills to support process improvement, specialized studies, and definition of requirements. Shall perform engineering tasks for back-end design and development efforts including, but not limited to, developing back-end architectures to support current and new system capabilities and integrations, RESTful API development and modification, database management, and data model development and optimization.

This position is contingent upon contract award and position availability. Selected candidates will receive a contingent offer of employment, which will become final only upon successful contract award to Maximus, availability of the position, and receipt of authorization to proceed.

This is a remote position and requires a TS/SCI clearance.

Job-Specific Minimum Requirements:

• 7 years of overall experience in the functional area. Bachelor's degree required (Master's may substitute for 2 years).
• 7 years of software development experience in object-oriented and scripted languages with DevSecOps, microservices, and containers tool suites.
• Demonstrated experience in preparing, conducting, and documenting various systems tests.
• 3 years of experience with bug tracking software (e.g., Jira) and testing web-based applications.
• 3 years of experience participating in software development programs or projects.
• Practical experience developing in a cloud environment.
• Experience with integrating data from unclassified to classified application deployments.
• 5 years of experience with Jenkins and GitLab.
• 5 years of experience with at least five (5) of the following: NPM, Cypress.io, esbuild, Bun, Apache Tomcat, Maven, SonarQube.
• 3 years of recent back-end web design and development experience.
• Demonstrated experience with relational databases, RESTful API development/communication, and system integrations.
• 3 years of experience with AWS Infrastructure, Kubernetes, and RedHat Linux.
• DCWF Code: 632 Intermediate.
• Active TS/SCI with the ability to obtain a CI Poly required.
• Role may require travel to a site 10-20% of the time.
