Job summary

Maximus is seeking a Software Developer (Backend) to provide subject matter expertise for USAF missions. You will design and develop backend architectures, create RESTful APIs, manage databases, and optimize data models to support current and new system capabilities and integrations.

This remote role requires TS/SCI clearance and may require 10-20% travel. The position emphasizes DevSecOps, microservices, and cloud experience across Jira and GitLab environments.

Qualifications

• 7 years of overall experience in the functional area.
• Bachelor's degree required (Master's may substitute for 2 years).
• 7 years of software development experience in object-oriented and scripted languages with DevSecOps, microservices, and containers tool suites.
• 3 years of experience with bug tracking software (e.g., Jira) and testing web-based applications.
• 3 years of experience participating in software development programs or projects.
• Practical experience developing in a cloud environment.
• Experience with integrating data from unclassified to classified application deployments.
• 5 years of experience with Jenkins and GitLab.
• 3 years of recent back-end web design and development experience.
• Demonstrated experience with relational databases, RESTful API development/communication, and system integrations.
• 3 years of experience with AWS Infrastructure, Kubernetes, and RedHat Linux.
• Active TS/SCI with the ability to obtain a CI Poly required.
• Travel to a site 10-20% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Provide backend design and development for architectures supporting system capabilities and integrations.
• Develop and modify RESTful APIs and manage data models and databases.

• Perform testing and document results for various systems tests.

Job description

The Software Developer (Backend) provides subject matter proficiency for our USAF mission. This role is responsible for providing analytical skills to support process improvement, specialized studies, and definition of requirements. Shall perform engineering tasks for back-end design and development efforts including, but not limited to, developing back-end architectures to support current and new system capabilities and integrations, RESTful API development and modification, database management, and data model development and optimization.

This position is contingent upon contract award and position availability. Selected candidates will receive a contingent offer of employment, which will become final only upon successful contract award to Maximus, availability of the position, and receipt of authorization to proceed.

This is a remote position and requires a TS/SCI clearance.

• 3 years of experience with AWS Infrastructure, Kubernetes, and RedHat Linux.
• DCWF Code: 632 Intermediate.
• Active TS/SCI with the ability to obtain a CI Poly required.
• Role may require travel to a site 10-20% of the time.
