Job summary

Usul is seeking a backend platform engineer to join our Silicon Valley team. You will build the core platform infrastructure used by government clients to acquire technology swiftly and securely.

Ideal candidates have 2–8 years in backend infrastructure, strong Python and DevOps skills, and experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP). Bonus for TypeScript and a passion for national security challenges. On-site in San Francisco or Washington DC.

Qualifications

• 2-8 years of backend infra experience.
• Experience with several of the following: Python, DevOps, Bash, Linux, Kubernetes, Terraform, AWS/GCP, and agentic/LLM tooling.
• Bonus: Typescript.
• Passion for solving mission-critical national security problems.
