Job summary

Counsel Health is building AI-native healthcare infrastructure and seeks a Backend Infrastructure Engineer who can bridge software and operations. You’ll own CI/CD pipelines, IaC, and backend services, shaping core patterns and tooling to accelerate a fast-growing team.

You’ll work across Terraform, AWS, GCP, and containerized stacks, blending development and infrastructure skills to deliver reliable, secure systems in a HIPAA-regulated environment. Hybrid roles in NYC and Boston.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of backend/infrastructure experience.
• Hands-on AWS/GCP/Azure experience.
• Familiar with containerized environments and CI/CD.
• Ability to translate product requirements into infrastructure changes.

Responsibilities

• Shape infrastructure-as-code using Terraform.
• Own CI/CD pipelines end-to-end for reliable deployments.
• Write backend services and core systems.
• Create reusable production patterns for deployments and jobs.
• Improve local dev workflows and reduce build times.
• Strengthen security and HIPAA-compliant posture.
