Job summary

Chainguard is hiring a Software Engineer for the Repository team to build and operate backend services that securely serve artifacts and enable a unified repository experience across containers, APKs, and other artifact types. You’ll work with Go, contribute to customer-facing systems, and improve reliability in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience building software, with backend or infrastructure focus.
• Experience with Go and backend services is a plus.
• Ability to work in a fast-moving, production-grade environment.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate customer-facing registries, APIs, and artifact-serving systems.
• Develop Go services and contribute to production infrastructure.
• Improve reliability, performance, and observability of backend systems.
• Participate in design discussions about service boundaries and data flows.
• Collaborate with engineers and product partners to deliver a cohesive repository experience.
• Review code and contribute to a supportive engineering team.
• Investigate and resolve production issues to strengthen operational judgment.
