Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a software engineer to design, implement, and operate our most critical services, including identity and core persistence layers, in a scalable environment. You will collaborate across teams to translate product requirements into reliable, production-ready components.

You will apply best practices for availability, performance, and cost management, and use AI-enabled workflows to ship high-quality code while maintaining strong security and operational standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as computer science or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of post-Bachelor’s software development experience; or Master’s degree with 1+ year of post-grad experience; or PhD in a relevant field.
• Experience working with distributed systems.
• Experience with Java, C++, and/or Python.
• Experience with NoSQL solutions, Memcache/Redis, Kubernetes, or Google/AWS services.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and operate our most critical and scalable services – ranging from user identity services, friend graph, and core persistence layer.
• Work across teams to understand product requirements, evaluate trade-offs, and deliver solutions for innovative products.
• Advocate for and apply best practices for availability, scalability, operational excellence, and cost management.
• Utilize AI tools and high velocity engineering workflows to design and ship scalable services while maintaining rigorous standards for code correctness, security, and production-ready quality code.
