Job summary

Raydar is recruiting on behalf of a fast-growing software company for a backend-focused role. You will design scalable backend services and APIs, connect to legacy systems, and optimize performance in a high-velocity release environment.

You will also build front-end applications that consume our APIs, ensure robust testing, and research new integrations to handle diverse system quirks.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate CS degree from a highly ranked US/Canada school; non-bootcamp path preferred.
• Demonstrated excellence (top school, notable startup results, or similar).
• Recent experience at a small, early-stage tech startup.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure such as AWS.
• Interest in backend and systems engineering over AI focus.
• Independent, proactive, fast-paced team contributor.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable backend services and interfaces for a software platform.
• Build secure connections to on-premises systems with real-time capabilities.
• Develop backend APIs and data storage with low latency through caching.
• Release code frequently and iterate with direct customer input.
• Implement automated tests to surface regressions across endpoints.
• Build front-end apps consuming company APIs and inform API design.
• Research each integration deeply to manage quirks and challenges.
