Air Apps is a remote-first company building utility and productivity apps. We are seeking a Backend Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain server-side components, APIs, and microservices powering diverse products.

You will work with Java, Go, Python or Ruby, using Spring Boot, Django or Express.js, on distributed systems in the cloud. Remote flexibility, competitive benefits, and opportunities to impact millions of users await.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• Proficiency in one or more backend languages (e.g., Java, Go, Python, Ruby) and frameworks.
• Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases; distributed systems and cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain RESTful APIs, GraphQL, microservices and server-side logic.
• Collaborate on schema design, data modeling, and query optimization for scalable storage.
• Develop solutions that scale to millions of users with performance and cost considerations.
• Implement security practices and ensure compliance with data protection laws.
• Write unit/integration/e2e tests and participate in code reviews to maintain quality.
• Set up monitoring, logging, and alerting; troubleshoot production issues.
