Chime Engineering is growing rapidly as we scale to meet the financial needs of our members. We’re looking for driven engineers to help evolve our risk platform and architecture, enabling deeper insights and stronger protections for our members.

The base salary offered for this role and level of experience will begin at $133,000.00 and up to $184,000.00. Full-time employees are also eligible for a bonus, equity, and benefits.

Qualifications

• 3+ years building production software at scale.
• Based in the Chicago area, or willing to relocate.
• Experience with Ruby on Rails or comparable frameworks.
• Experience with transactional databases and caching systems.
• Exposure to architectural patterns of large, high-scale web applications.
• Commitment to maintainable, well-tested code.
• Clear communication and effective collaboration across teams.

Responsibilities

• Write clean, efficient, well-tested backend code, and assist with frontend/mobile features.
• Set up monitoring and dashboards to detect issues early.
• Collaborate across Engineering to solve multi-domain problems.
• Work with Risk, Compliance, Data, Analytics, and Product to ship secure features.
• Deliver high-quality work on tight timelines.
• Work out of the Chicago office.
