Job summary

LILT is seeking a backend software engineer to build real-time translation backend services powering Converse and related products. You will implement ingestion, diarization, streaming orchestration, and on-call support to keep latency-sensitive conversations flowing.

You will work with Node.js/TypeScript, Java, and Python across REST and streaming APIs, participate in CI/CD pipelines, and collaborate with frontend teams to define strong API contracts for live meeting UIs.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Node.js/TypeScript, Java or Python ecosystems.
• Experience building real-time or streaming backend systems.
• Knowledge of REST/GraphQL APIs and authentication patterns.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain backend services for real-time translation pipelines.
• Implement event-driven routing and on-call escalation for latency-sensitive sessions.
• Create APIs and services backing meeting UIs and interpreter workbenches.
• Contribute to tests, CI/CD pipelines, and observability tooling.
• Collaborate with frontend teams to define clean API contracts.
