Job summary

LILT is developing Converse real‑time translation for high‑stakes meetings. As the senior engineer on the Create team, you will own architecture, roadmap, and hands‑on engineering for the backend translation service and the customer‑facing surfaces.

You will design a low‑latency streaming pipeline, build the live meeting experience and interpreter workbench, and work with Product and Design to convert PRD requirements into technical designs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional full‑stack software engineering experience with real‑time or streaming systems.
• Strong backend experience with REST APIs and low‑latency transport.
• Strong frontend experience in React/TypeScript for live, multi‑pane UIs.
• Experience integrating with platform SDKs (Slack, Zoom, etc.).
• Comfort with latency‑sensitive ML‑in‑the‑loop pipelines is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own architecture and technical roadmap for Converse expansion, spanning backend translation service and live meeting surfaces.
• Design and implement low‑latency, multi‑participant translation pipeline (audio ingestion, diarization, ASR, MT, fan‑out).
• Build live meeting experience components (bot/agent, side panels, on‑stage captions) with platform SDKs.
• Develop the interpreter workbench with real‑time editing, TM/TB matching, and QA signals.
• Create event‑driven correction/broadcast flow to route to on‑call interpreters by language.
• Collaborate with Product/Design to translate PRD into concrete technical designs and deliver on schedule.
• Mentor engineers and help set engineering standards as the team grows.
