Job summary

Rooms To Go is seeking a backend software developer to design and scale Node.js services and APIs for our eCommerce platform. You will collaborate with React front-end teams and ensure secure, reliable systems capable of handling high traffic, while using AI tools to accelerate delivery and improve quality.

You will engage in API design, security practices, and production readiness, with on-call support as needed. Strong emphasis on maintainability and performance in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional backend development experience with Node.js.
• Strong JavaScript/TypeScript skills and experience building scalable APIs.
• Experience with MERN stack development and collaboration with React front-end teams.

Responsibilities

• Build and scale high-performance backend services and APIs (REST and service-to-service) for core eCommerce workflows.
• Collaborate with front-end developers to define contracts and improve end-to-end performance.
• Implement security best practices including authentication/authorization, secrets management, and data protection.
• Write clean, testable, reusable code with strong observability and production readiness.
• Use AI-assisted development tools responsibly to accelerate delivery and improve quality.
