Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a backend engineer to own end-to-end money movement features within the Money Movement team. You will design and deploy APIs and infrastructure that enable stablecoin-powered payments across products, while balancing speed, security, and compliance considerations.

You will work with Product, Design, Infra, and Compliance to deliver scalable solutions, improve performance, and write clear technical designs.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in backend engineering for fintech, payments, or crypto.
• Proficiency in Go or Java and cloud infra (AWS, GCP).
• Experience delivering end-to-end projects as DRI.
• Experience with blockchain or crypto tech like stablecoins or on-chain payments.
• Ability to write technical design docs and communicate architecture trade-offs.
• Responsible use of AI with human oversight.

Responsibilities

• Own key projects end-to-end as the Directly Responsible Individual, driving stablecoin-based money movement features from design through production deployment.
• Build backend systems, infrastructure, and internal/external APIs enabling stablecoin-powered payments.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, Infra, and Compliance to translate requirements into robust, scalable solutions.
• Improve performance, scalability, and reliability across distributed systems and identify bottlenecks.
• Support engineering quality through code reviews and architectural patterns.
