Job summary

M&T Bank in Buffalo, New York seeks a software engineer to design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise applications, following banking technology standards and the SDLC. Proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and Python is required.

You will build backend services and APIs, participate in code reviews, contribute to automation and data processing, and collaborate with cross-functional teams on cloud-native apps, with opportunities to work on front-end tasks using React.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree with 3+ years' systems analysis or development work experience OR Bachelor's with 1+ year experience.
• Proficiency in Java and/or Python for enterprise applications.
• Experience with Spring Boot and RESTful APIs.
• Experience with Git and collaborative workflows.
• Understanding OO design and modern software development methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Work within the SDLC to solve business needs and minimize risks with clean, resilient code.
• Provide feedback in pull requests and participate in code reviews.
• Write organized, clean, secure source code using Java, Spring Boot, Python and related technologies.
• Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services, APIs, and microservices.
• Collaborate across teams to design scalable, secure cloud-native applications.
