Job summary

DoorDash is seeking Backend Engineers to build and maintain a large-scale, 24x7 global infrastructure powering a three-sided marketplace. You will operate backend services, define architecture and technology stacks, and collaborate across teams to maximize business impact.

The role is hybrid with some in-office time and reports to an Engineering Manager. You will develop, optimize and secure backend systems, transition toward microservices, and tackle bleeding-edge challenges in logistics

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 2+ years of industry backend experience.
• Experience with REST APIs, SOA, testing and architecture.
• Knowledge of HTTP/REST, SQL and NoSQL databases.

Responsibilities

• Develop, release and run large-scale web applications.
• Define backend architecture and tech stack for a product area.
• Improve performance, reliability, scalability and security.
• Transition monolithic codebase to microservices architecture.
