Coinbase, Inc. is seeking a backend Software Engineer to help build scalable, secure services in a microservices architecture. You’ll design internal and customer-facing APIs and lead end-to-end delivery from implementation to deployment.

You’ll collaborate with cross-functional partners, improve observability, and strengthen reliability while embracing responsible use of AI tools to boost developer productivity and product quality. Remote-friendly with quarterly in-person surges.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional backend experience
• Experience designing and shipping internal or customer-facing APIs
• Familiarity with microservice ecosystems and observability tooling
• Strong written and spoken communication with cross-functional partners
• Responsible use of AI tools to improve workflows and quality

Responsibilities

• Build, deploy, and maintain scalable, secure backend services in a microservices architecture
• Define internal and customer-facing APIs with high developer experience
• Lead end-to-end feature delivery from implementation through deployment
• Improve reliability and observability; address technical debt proactively
• Participate in code reviews, on-call rotations, and incident response
