Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Software Engineer to join the CDP Foundations team within the Developer group. You will build core backend capabilities enabling partners and customers to securely access Coinbase's crypto infrastructure.

You will design and ship backend services, APIs, and microservices in a distributed environment, leading features end-to-end while improving reliability and developer experience. The role emphasizes collaboration and responsible AI usage.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional backend experience in a microservices or distributed systems environment.
• Experience designing and shipping internal or customer-facing APIs with a focus on developer experience.
• Familiarity with deploying and testing in microservice ecosystems and observability tooling.
• Strong written and verbal communication of technical trade-offs with cross-functional partners.
• Responsible use of generative AI tools to deliver business-ready outputs.

Responsibilities

• Build, deploy, and maintain scalable backend services in a microservices architecture.
• Define internal and customer-facing APIs with clean design for developer experience.
• Lead end-to-end delivery of features from implementation to deployment and monitoring.
• Improve reliability and observability; address technical debt proactively.
• Participate in code reviews, on-call rotation, and incident response.
