plootocareers is seeking an Intermediate Backend Engineer to shape scalable, cloud-native services that support cash flow management for North American SMEs. You will design APIs, integrate systems, and build event-driven components using Kafka in a fast-growing FinTech team.

The role emphasizes API-first development, cross-functional collaboration, and mentoring peers while delivering reliable backend services in a remote-friendly setup.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of professional software engineering experience in scale-up environments.
• Strong proficiency in C# and the .NET ecosystem.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs and service contracts.
• Cloud-native development with Azure or AWS.
• Familiarity with Kafka or equivalent event streaming.
• Experience with NoSQL, in-memory, and relational databases.
• CS degree or equivalent practical experience; cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering to deliver scalable services using .NET and Azure/Kubernetes.
• Design and implement APIs, integrations, and workflows for high-throughput production workloads.
• Translate complex architectures into maintainable system designs and clear code.
• Build event-driven services using Kafka for real-time insights.
• Champion API-first design with clean interfaces and contract-driven development.
• Share knowledge in internal sessions and align tech output with business goals.
