Job summary

Our client, a mission-driven fintech company, seeks a Software Engineer to own end-to-end delivery of features that impact how millions of people interact with debt resolution. You will design, implement, and ship backend services, balance long-term maintainability with rapid delivery, and collaborate with product managers and cross-functional teams.

Expect heavy use of APIs, databases, and AI tools to accelerate development velocity.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of backend software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in at least one backend language (Python, Java, Go, or similar).
• Solid understanding of APIs, databases, and web technologies.
• Experience providing constructive code review feedback that improves team standards.
• Interest in fintech, consumer finance, or mission-driven companies.

Responsibilities

• Independently scope, design, and ship features across the stack — from targeted enhancements to multi-system integrations.
• Make architectural decisions that balance long-term maintainability with immediate delivery pressure.
• Translate product requirements into technical solutions, probing for edge cases and constraints.
• Articulate trade-offs between technical approaches using concrete examples.
• Work effectively when requirements are unclear or changing; ask clarifying questions that unblock progress.
• Write maintainable, well-tested code; provide thoughtful code review feedback.
• Actively use AI tools (Cursor, Copilot, ChatGPT) to accelerate development velocity.
