Job summary

Veryable is hiring a mid-level Backend Software Engineer focused on backend technologies. You will build robust services and APIs powering our web and mobile apps and own the full feature lifecycle from design through release and post-release support.

You will mentor junior engineers, participate in code reviews, and drive high-quality standards with test-driven development and comprehensive automated tests. On-call incidents and postmortems are part of the role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 2+ years in relational DB design using MySQL or PostgreSQL.
• Understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices, distributed systems.
• 1+ years with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline, Circle CI).
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
• Curiosity and drive for continuous improvement.
• Able to work in-office at our HQ in Downtown Dallas.

Responsibilities

• Build robust services and APIs powering web and mobile apps.
• Own development lifecycle for roadmap features from design to post-release.
• Collaborate with internal users to gather feedback and plan features.
• Mentor junior engineers and perform code reviews to uphold quality.
• Promote high-quality code standards and test coverage (TDD, automated tests).
• Handle on-call incidents and contribute to postmortems.
• Embody Veryable's tech team culture.
