Job summary

LaunchDarkly is seeking backend engineers to design, build, and operate production services powering reliable software delivery. You may work on APIs, distributed systems, data services, SDK infrastructure, or backend components supporting our product experiences.

You will collaborate with Product, Design, and partner teams to translate customer needs into simple, scalable solutions and own work from early design through production at meaningful scale.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building and operating production software.
• Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, testing, debugging, and API design.
• Experience with a backend language such as Go, Python, Rust; most teams use Go.
• Experience designing reliable, observable services as usage grows.
• Ability to explain technical decisions clearly to technical and non-technical partners.
• Collaborative approach with ownership for work and impact.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, test, and operate production services and APIs.
• Lead projects or meaningful components from definition through deployment.
• Trade off across scalability, performance, reliability, and security.
• Improve observability with metrics, logs, traces, alerts, and post-mortems.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, Support, and other teams to deliver outcomes.
• Participate in design discussions and code reviews, sharing feedback.
