Job summary

DocuSign, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer in Seattle to design, build, and operate backend services powering documents at global scale. You will own features end to end, contribute to reliability, performance, and security, and apply AI-native practices to enhance our document platform.

The role focuses on Tier-0 services, large-scale data, and high-availability environments, with a hybrid work model requiring some in-office presence and weekly expectations.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience building and operating production backend services.
• Experience developing microservices with C#.
• Experience operating high-availability services where uptime, security, and correctness are non-negotiable.
• Experience with large-scale, distributed systems.
• Experience owning and solving complex problems end-to-end.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate backend services that power documents at DocuSign at global scale.
• Own features end to end, design, implementation, deployment, and operations.
• Contribute to the reliability, performance, and security of Tier-0 services that other teams depend on.
• Apply AI-native development practices in how you build, and help build AI-powered capabilities on top of our documents.
• Participate in design and code reviews with a focus on resilience and graceful failure, not just functionality.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across environments, and improve alerting, dashboards, and operational runbooks.
• Collaborate across teams and help raise the engineering bar.
