Job summary

Jobrapido is seeking an experienced Senior Backend Engineer to design, build, and maintain cloud-native services for its communications platform. You will work in a small engineering team, contribute across the software lifecycle, and participate in on-call responsibilities and escalations.

You will focus on Golang-based APIs, AWS-based infrastructure, and scalable microservices, while collaborating with product, design, and other engineering teams to deliver reliable, production-ready software.

About The Role

Jobrapido is seeking an experienced and collaborative Senior Backend Engineer to design, develop, and maintain cloud-native applications. In this role, you will help build and improve the services that support the configuration and use of the company’s communications platform. You will join a small engineering team, contribute across the software development lifecycle, and take part in operational support, including on-call responsibilities and escalations.

You may also contribute to AI-driven features and agentic systems, particularly in customer experience and integrations. This position is suited to an engineer who enjoys solving backend challenges, takes ownership of reliable production systems, and communicates effectively with colleagues across engineering, product, and design.

Responsibilities

Design, build, test, and maintain secure, scalable APIs and routing logic, using Golang as the primary programming language. Develop production-ready services and features, with opportunities to support integrations with CRM, practice management, and electronic health record systems, as well as AI-enabled workflows.

Contribute to the technical direction of a unified communications and conversational AI platform. Help ensure that services perform reliably in high-volume environments and meet appropriate standards for security, responsiveness, and maintainability. Participate in architectural discussions and identify opportunities to improve system design and developer practices.

Own assigned work throughout the software development lifecycle, from technical planning and implementation through deployment, monitoring and ongoing maintenance. Work with Product Management and engineering colleagues to refine user stories and deliver projects using the Shape Up framework. Monitor and troubleshoot platform issues, including reliability concerns, API performance and response latency. Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to support escalations.

Maintain and improve AWS infrastructure through automation. Collaborate with engineers, UX and design partners and product teams to ensure that technical solutions support the intended customer experience. Share knowledge, mentor junior engineers and provide practical technical guidance that helps the wider team succeed.

Qualifications

You bring at least five years of professional software engineering experience, with a strong focus on backend development and extensive experience using Golang to build production systems. You have hands-on experience designing and delivering solutions on AWS, including services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda and CloudWatch. You understand microservices, REST or gRPC API design and the challenges involved in building scalable systems.

You have experience designing efficient schemas for relational databases and working with NoSQL datastores. You are comfortable collaborating through Git and GitHub, communicate clearly and work effectively with distributed teams. You take an empowering approach to engineering, creating systems and practices that help both you and your colleagues do their best work.

Preferred experience includes Python; autonomous or semi-autonomous software agents; LLMs, prompt engineering, LangChain or LlamaIndex and communications technologies such as SIP, RTP, WebRTC, SMS, MMS or RCS. Familiarity with Terraform, Ansible, Bash, CI/CD, server management and migrations is valuable. Healthcare software experience and knowledge of HIPAA security and compliance requirements are also beneficial.
